IDLE: The Consequence of Inaction was the second film I directed, with my co-director Alex Ambro, for our Fiction Film Production class in the fall of 2024. Originally the script was written by Alex Ambro and began at 59 pages when we started this project, and after cutting it down and altering it to be 21 pages, we finally began filming and production took off from there. Featuring seven different filming locations, including Miami University's XR stage, production lasted about two months and we found time to film whenever we could. Not only did I co-direct the film, I was also in charge of costumes and was behind the camera for the majority of the film.
Sam Anker gets broken up with by his girlfriend Elle, and despite talking about it with his therapist, Jenny, he begins to spiral and lose sense of himself and reality. Even though he is supported by his best friend Evan, he finds that not all of his friends, like Will and Macy, are as understanding. He continues to fall deeper into his emotions, and he's not sure if he will ever make it back out.
