Synopsis
Keith receives a text from the girl he likes, Pearl, about possibly going on a date. He responds with "Sure" which makes Pearl feel a cloud of doubt. As Pearl starts to prepare for their date through doing her makeup and talking about potential scenarios, Keith also does his own form of preparation by pretending to be on a mock date... with himself.
You're Perfect was the first film I directed for my Intermediate Film Production class in the spring of 2024. I wrote the script, directed, shot, and edited the entire film by myself for my final project. Our assignment was to create a 3-5 minute short film about whatever we wanted, and I decided to write a short script about two individuals preparing for a date with some funny parallels to one another. I wanted the final film to be fun and light hearted but still follow a narrative all the way through. The set was the various rooms in my apartment, and I recruited my partner, Jesse Barnes, to act as Keith in the film.
